Drilling doublet for geothermal energy in Belgium

Janssen Pharmaceutica with its headquarters in Beerse/Belgium has set itself the ambitious goal to obtain 20% of its energy from renewable sources by 2020.

At the same time the company is targeting a 20% reduction in its CO₂ emissions by 2020. An essential part of this strategy is Janssens investment in geothermal energy. DrillTec will carry out a drilling doublet for this project with the drilling rig VDD 200.1 Compact. The drilling site in Beerse, Belgium, is placed at Janssens premises between existing buildings. This means very confined space conditions.
